You are 40 or over, and there is no serious relationship in sight. You are successful in your life and psychologically strong.You have the dream of becoming a mother. You ask yourself the question. Do I wait around to see if my knight in shining amor would come by or do I go ahead and have my baby before my time runs out?
Dear sisters, my goal here is to provide objective and unbiased information which you help you achieve your goals of motherhood. I am therefore not going to debate whether it is morally proper to have a child as a single parent or not.
If you are 40 or over and want to have a child, then I would encourage you to make the decision without over evaluating it.
You can never make big decisions without being a little bit afraid and unsure. This does not mean that you decision is wrong. Being a single parent will not be a walk in the park. But if you have your ducks in order, you will do just fine. Remember that the more time you use trying to make a decision, the clock ticks away.
Some women fear that if they get a child, then potential suitors might be frightened away. Well let me tell you this dear. I have seen men who have gone on to marry women with four prior children. The bottom line is this. If a man wants you, he will go for you regardless of if you have one or one thousand children. I think that it is possible to delay getting a man until 60, however it is not possible to delay getting a baby until 60.
So then you could ask me ‘ how do I get a baby without a man?’ and my answer would be ‘Using a sperm donor’. There a several sperm banks in the country and I will be guiding you in my next blog on

the bottom line is thats ladies. Take control of your own life. Do not let anyone make this very important decision for you.
If you wonder how your child will feel knowing that they do not have a bio father? Do not worry, I will tackle that. From interviews with children born from sperm donors, there is no problem. Children are happy to have loving parents and do not miss what they do not know.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The good thing is that you can get pregnant. So if you would like to grow your family, then just try again. Children are blessings from God and you will get one in his time.

I’ll be 43 on Monday and have *desperately* wanted a daughter for the past 20 years. I have been blessed with two beautiful sons who are now teenagers, but the longing for a little girl has become so heartbreaking that I take pregnancy tests every day without fail, trying to convince myself that I see a line. This is despite the fact that my barely there significant other pulls out every time without fail (sorry if TMI) even though he knows how much I want another child. I am embarrassed to say, I even offered to pay him a large sum of money to have one. But he is too selfish and only thinks about how HE doesn’t want another baby and doesn’t mind at all that I walk around dangerously depressed about all this. I even told him we could go to a lawyer to ensure he qouldn’t have to pay a dime of child support. But he doesn’t want to help me and I can’t sleep with just anyone. I’ll be 43 in two days, please help me get pregnant! I don’t understand about sperm donation but am willing to learn!
I will assume that you are not in a committed relationship then? if that is the case and you know that you can financially and emotionally support another child, then the ball is in your court.
